The African Scientific Institute (ASI) has developed the ASI Fellows Program as one instrument to further its goal of assisting minorities in the world of science and technology. ASI Fellows are a collective of high achievers in science and technology who share experiences, contacts, and knowledge. This unique group of noted individuals, which has boundless potential and is always organic, offers inclusion of accomplished people who have continuously demonstrated their efforts to achieve higher goals in the world of science and technology. They also serve as standards of accomplishment and encourage minorities to further engage in science and technology. Our youth can identify with these individuals and realize that they too, as young people, can start their journey towards high accomplishments, knowing that others have achieved such goals. As a visible gesture, we presented the first historic ASI Fellows Induction Ceremony that was held in Washington, D.C. on November 18, 2006 at Howard University, Blackburn Center. This event will served as a public acknowledgment of appreciation to African Americans who have furthered scientific and technical developments. |
