Symposium's Concluding MANIFESTO:

On the initiative of H.E. Dr. Boni Yayi, President of the Republic of Benin, an International Symposium Commemorating Africa's 50th Independence Anniversary was held in Cotonou, Benin, November 16 - 20, 2010. Going under the theme 'Bold innovation, only challenge for new Africa', the symposium sought to make way for all the countries in Africa to speak in one voice on issues that affect Africa.

This Symposium brought together a selected group of scientists, scholars, engineers, entrepreneurs, employers' associations and labor unions. Young men and women aged 16 - 35 years were also involved in this momentous celebration.

The African Scientific Institute attended and participated in this symposium.

At the close of proceedings, a Manifesto of the 50th anniversary, a founding text of guidelines and commitment for a major Africa in a major world was proclaimed.
