Many of our leaders wonder what is happening to America's leading edge in
competing with developed countries. Why are U.S. citizens showing less interest in
becoming scientists and technologists? Why are technological breakthroughs
discovered in America not brought to fruition on world markets by U.S. based companies?American leadership has turned
U.S. directions away from manufac- turing and production at home and instead has created a
consumer oriented populace. Many of us are not concerned about why or how things
work around us; we are only concerned that they work as advertised. We concern
ourselves with conveniences and the gadgets associated with making our lives comfortable,
even lazy. Why care about developments in science and technology, so long as we can
get to the new in thing at the marketplace, who cares who produces it, as long as we can
afford to buy these things on credit?
Leaders with vision care about the direction of
America. They care about the future of their children. They want to turn
America around and make it more productive. But how? Is it too late to stop a
powerful force from going in one direction and redirect that force to benefit
America? How do we interest U.S. citizens, especially our children, in the causes of
future developments.................which lay in scientific and technological
developments? The African Scientific Institute (ASI) has structured a plan to help
refocus the energies of some Americans towards science and technology.
By exciting a person's interest in technological
advancements and taking the fears away which relate to how such advancements work, a
person will carry himself/herself forward to initiate, develop, and maintain his or her
own quests and thirst for relating to the world of science and technology.
ASI is not naive about exposing the world of
science and technology to U.S. citizens. With all the competition for minds of
people constantly bombarding a person to continue in his or her present direction towards
consumerism without thinking much about items purchased, then businesses will go on as
usual. If you can control what goes into one's mind, then you can predict their
directions in life. Control the media which one sees and hears, then you can pretty
much see where their interests will be. However, now American businesses are being
assaulted by foreign competition around the world. American jobs are being threaten at a
level never witnessed in recent U.S. history. Americans are now looking at whether
or not they can afford lifestyles of the past. Such new attitudes are impacting American
buying habits; thereby effecting the future stability of U.S. businesses. Now
businesses need answers, they need help to survive. How can the workforce compete?
From where will our future scientists come? How can we help Americans care ?
And why should they help us?
