Dr. Julius H. Taylor, Ph.D. In 1945, Dr. Taylor was Chairman, Dept. of Physics, West Virginia State College. He later joined Morgan State as an Associate Professor in 1949, then went on to become the Dept. Chairman and Professor from 1951 - 1978. Dr. Taylor now serves as a contractor to NASA. He has researched and published widely about physcial nature of matter, including, but not limited to "Electrical and Optical Properties of Semi-Conductors Under Hydro-static Pressure", "Index Refraction of Liquids", and "the Forbidden Bandwidth in Tellurium". Dr Taylor has always been concerned about increasing the number of African Americans in Science and Engineering; he has published articles about this matter over 40 years. He edited The Negro in Science, Morgan State College Press, 1955. Dr. Taylor has mentored students in Junior and Senior High Schools in the Baltimore Public School system from 1987 - 1997. |
