Dr. John B. Slade, Jr., M.D.
Physician

Dr. Slade is Physician of Hyperbaric Medicine, board certified in Family Practice and Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine. Prior to his private practice, Dr. Slade graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy, and served in the U.S. Air Force medical service from 1978 - 1997 as a Chief Resident Family Practice, Medical Director of Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care, and Chief of the Medical Staff at Travis Air Force Base. In his capacity, he uses hyperbaric oxygen as an adjunct in the treatment of multiple medical and surgical problems including acute thermal injury, radiation tissue injury, necrotizing infections, carbon monoxide poisoning and decompression illness. He has been involved in multiple research studies concerning the use of hyperbaric oxygen. He has studied and uses transcutaneous oxygen measurements to predict healing of diabetic leg wounds with hyperbaric therapy. Dr. Slade has served as a Guest Faculty member for countless universities and military healthcare institutions, and has multiple publications.
