Dr. Nathaniel R. Quick, Ph.D.
Materials Science and Engineering

Dr. Quick invents materials science related technologies ranging from electronic devices and sensors to laser-based and other industrial processes. Dr. Quick is Co-Founder, President and Chief Technical Officer for a company established to commercialize these unique and proprietary laser materials processing technologies, 12 patents awarded in this area, which enables the use of advanced semiconductor materials, reduces process steps, and improves yields for the fabrication of electronic, photonic, energy conversion and spintronic devices. He is a Fellow, Board of Directors member and past Secretary of the Laser Institute of America. Prior to his current work, he reorganized and aligned R&D programs (metallic membranes and other advanced alloy fiber products) with marketing to accelerate new product implementation. Dr. Quick was Co-founder of AT&T Coatings, Supervisor, Technology Applications, Supervisor, Keypads and Interconnect Technology, Resident Metallurgist. He was VP of R&D for a minority owned steel wire processor and the co-founder of a Pan African agricultural-technical organization. He holds a total of 38 United States patents and has been a NSIT quest researcher and has served on the Army Science Board, the Florida Photonics Center of Excellence Board and the University of Central Florida Engineering industrial Advisory Committee.
