Anthony has practiced engineering in the San Francisco Bay Area through four decades. He has worked as a design engineer for oil refineries, nuclear power plants, industrial and residential buildings and rail and marine transportation facilities. He is a member and past president of the Northern California Council of Black Professional Engineers. He served as Vice President for the consulting engineering firm of F.E. Jordan Associates, establishing the firm as a major contributor to projects with the Port of Oakland. His experience includes more than 15 years as a Principal Contract Specialist with the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District. He was a member of the City of Oakland Planning Commission, serving as Chairman and participated in the development of updates to the City’s General Plan. He is President of the Universal Development Company, one of the Universal Group of firms established to address development opportunities throughout the United States and abroad.
