Gene is a Resource R.N. and Flight for a Pediatric Burn Intensive care Unit. He is a charge nurse, Nurse mentor, and preceptor. His flight nursing duties include the stabilization and air medical transport of acutely burned pediatric patients via helicopter and fixed wing aircraft. His flight team does domestic and international transports of critically burned children. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International honor society of nursing, The American Burn Association, and the Air surface transport nurses association. Gene lectures at Prairie View University School of Nursing. He is a Burn Nurse consultant, and serves on outreach programs to introduce students to careers in air medical nursing.
