Wallace O. Johnston, PE
Mechanical Engineering

Is a Mechanical Engineer holding the degree, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, May 1968. He and classmate Fred Hannaham opened the firm Hannaham and Johnston, consulting electrical and mechanical engineers. Johnston served as a Board Director for two years with New York Association of Consulting Engineers and was selected by NYCACE Board of Directors to be the moderator for their Mechanical Engineering Design Competition. He designed an engineering solution to the large quantity of jet aircraft exhaust fumes entering the baggage areas of American Airlines, LaGuardia Airport. His paper: "Unique Air Curtain Installation Solves Difficult Airport Problem" was featured in a national engineering journal in 1976. He became sole proprietor of Wallace Johnston Engineers in 1976. Some of his engineering designs include a 650,000 gallons swimming pool, New York City College; new Neo-Natal Suite 4th floor NYC Metropolitan Hospital; new 14-story 450,000 sq. ft. NYC Transit Authority Office Building. He holds a Library of Congress copyright for a multi-lamp design. Johnston received the Certificate of Merit for Excellence in Design, Riverside Convention Center, Rochester, NY. He was listed in WHO'S WHO IN ENGINEERING, 1982 edition. Life Member, National Society of Professional Engineers.
