Mr. Napoleon Hornbuckle Past Corp. VP at Motorola Corp., where he provided leadership for the Diversified Technologies Division, Motorola Space and Systems Technology Group. In 1984, he assumed the responsibility of the Tactical Communications Operations within the Communications Division, with the Marketing, Program Management and Engineering Departments reporting to him. During this time, he successfully led the introduction of a number of products into the military. One product was the AN/PRC-112 survival radio that was used by Captain O'Grady in Bosnia. Another product was the LST-5 satellite transceiver used by the military special operations, state departments, and others during times of crises. In 1990 he was asked to lead the Strategic Electronics Division that comprised all of Motorola's space-related products. In 1992, the division received the Goddard Space Flight Center Excellence Award for Quality and Productivity. Napoleon was selected in 1993 to lead the group efforts in diversification of its businesses. A new division was formed, Diversified Technology Division, which he led. This division consists of both military and commercial products. Some of the commercial products developed include those for electronic toll collection and the GPS/cellular phone for emergency messaging. |
