Mr. Gerald Green
Mechanical Engineering

Mr. Green has Bachelors Degree in Engineering specializing in Fluid Mechanics and Control Theory. He was hired by Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Company in 1982 as a Design Engineer, and promoted to the position of Gas Engineer in 1984. While a Gas Engineer he received numerous perfor-mance recognition awards for managing multi-million dollar gas storage field projects. He later worked at PG&E as a Reservoir Engineer, and Project Manager, until he was diagnosis with cancer in 1995. Gerald celebrates ten years of being cancer free, and he has written a memoir Living Above The Line, A Family’s Victory Over Cancer scheduled to be release in late 2007. Gerald owns Green Consulting Services, which specializes in the design of solar and other alternative energy solutions. He has tutored adult literacy through Oakland’s Library Second Start Program, and currently mentors young African Americans males in a fatherhood program at the Mentoring Center in Oakland. He believes mentoring is a key component in motivating young people to become entrepreneurs that will help society develop "green solutions."
