Mr. Eddie Dunbar, MBA Eddie is Founder & CEO of BugPeople. He possesses competencies in entomology and technology-based instruction. In 1990 Dunbar founded BugPeople, which he adapted to increase technical competencies in four efforts: University of California Cooperative Extension (Berkeley), where Dunbar served as an Insect Hotline Operator (1994-1996); the CityBugs program, which recruited Oakland students to the Berkeley campus, and where Dunbar was Project Coordinator (1996-1998); the Leadership Institute for Teaching Elementary Science, Mills College, Oakland, where Dunbar conducted continuing education workshops for science teachers (1998-2000); and the Lawrence Hall of Science, where Dunbar served as a field instructor (2000-2005). Today, Dunbar reaches learners through innovative curriculum hosted on California’s most exhaustive entomology education website (www.bugpeople.org), through three insect field guides - including Lake Merritt and Greater Oakland Insects - and through photographs of thousands of California insect species. Currently, Dunbar is writing Insects of the San Francisco Bay Area to be published on CD-ROM in 2008. |
