Dr. Lincoln I. Diuguid, Ph.D.
President, Chemical Lab & Mfr.

Proprietor of a chemical lab & manufacturing company. After working as an analytical chemist and teaching in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, he finished his doctorate in organic chemistry in 1945. Two years ater he bought a building and converted it into a chemical lab. In addition to his chemical research, he took on teaching at Harris-Stowe State College. Although he retired from teaching after 33 years, he still works at his lab with as much energy, persistence and optimism as ever. In 2000 the American Chemical Society awarded him aspecial citation for his contributions to chemistry andmedicine. Never given credit for some of his discoveries before coming to St. Louis, he persists in working toward his primary goal, to find a cure for cancer. He says that he has several promising compounds that he believes to be revolutionary. " What keeps him going? He says his work gives him a reason to live. He could have made a much better living working for a big company, but money is not his motivator.Though his work could conceivably benefit all humanity, he sees his greatest contribution as his work with students. He became interested in chemistry when his own high schoolteacher pointed to the opportunities in the field - though at the time most were closed to his race. He did his best to set his students on the right track, and hears from some of them afteras long as 30 years.
