SyChip designs and markets modules for wireless internet appliances, based on micro-system integration technology (MSIT) developed at Bell Labs. The company solution targets semiconductor segments that are difficult or too expensive to integrate monolithically (RF passives, embedded memory). Recently, Dr. Asom was a Director in the Lucent New Ventures Group overseeing photonics and semiconductor startups. He was the Marketing Manager for optoelectronics components covering Asia-Pacific and South America. Dr. Asom was also Product Manager responsible for developing optical transceivers for broadband access. He holds 3 patents (issued and pending).
