Dr. Sunday Adeniji Adesuyi, Ph.D.

Chemist

Dr. Adesuyi has been successful in higher education for about thirty years. He is a Professor of Chemistry and Chairman of the Department of Natural Science and Mathematics. He has also served in such capacities as Interim Provost/Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Acting President of the college where he is currently employed. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards that include: Sears-Roebuck Faculty of the Year, UNCF Distinguished Leadership Award, Most Outstanding Science Faculty Award, U.S. Department of Commerce Appreciation Award. He was also named to Who's Who Among African Americans and to Outstanding Young Men of America. Dr. Adesuyi has also held or holds memberships and offices in numerous organizations that include being the President of the CIAA, Parliamentarian of NCAA Division II Management Council, Editor-In-Chief of the National Newsletter of the National Association of Minority Medical Educators (NAMME), and Executive Committee Member of the CIAA Basketball Tournament since 1990. Dr. Adesuyi is originally from Igbajo, Nigeria. He is married to the former Olayemi L. Adedeji; and they have one daughter, Adeola Ojuolape. Dr. Adesuyi is also an Ordained Minister, An Associate Pastor, and the Supreintendent of Sunday School at First Baptist Church, Lawrenceville, VA.
